Lockeport is home to one of the few independent Medical First Response (MFR) teams in Nova Scotia, a completely volunteer run organization.

The EHS Medical First Response program enhances pre-hospital patient care across the province. When you call 911, a Medical First Responder is often the first trained person to arrive and provide assistance while you wait for an ambulance.

Our local MFR team is made up of dedicated community volunteers who provide critical care in those first crucial minutes of an emergency. In addition to serving all areas covered by the Lockeport Fire Department, the team also responds throughout the areas served by the Little Harbour Fire Department, helping provide timely emergency support across a wide portion of the surrounding region.
