The Basics
To allow for safe and efficient snow removal, winter parking restrictions are in effect on all paved streets in Lockeport from December 1 to March 31.
What You Need to Know
No overnight parking on paved streets. Vehicles cannot be parked on any paved street between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Don’t block snow removal. If you park on any street during the day, you must be available to move your vehicle if needed for snow clearing operations.
Violations may result in fines or towing. Vehicles that interfere with snow removal may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
Exceptions
The overnight parking ban does not apply to:
- Doctors’ vehicles parked near their office or residence for emergency calls
- Medical practitioners actively making house calls
- Police officers on duty
- Fire department members responding to emergencies
- Commercial vehicles actively loading or unloading (must move when required)
Why This Matters
When vehicles are left on the street overnight, our crews can’t clear snow properly. This creates safety hazards and slows down the entire plowing operation. By parking off-street during winter nights, you help keep Lockeport’s roads safe for everyone.
